Nepal is small but beautiful mountain country in the south Asia which is lies in between China and India. About thirty million  people and one hundred twenty six ethnic group live in the country. 1. Daal Bhat

Probably Daal Bhat is the best best food in kathmandu, which can find easily every corner of the country. It is the national food of Nepal. Daal Bhat means there will be different kind of food together. Daal means (lentil soup), Bhat means (stamed  rice), Tarkari (vevetable curry), meat, some Spanish, papad ( thin crispy dread), and some seasonal pickle. The Nepali people mix all the food together and eat with right hand. If you are going to hiking in mountain region it will be very healthy and organic for your morning and evening food. 2. Mo Mo

Momos is the famous dish in Nepal which is easily find at every restaurant and hotel in Kathmandu. It is like a simple white flour dumpling fill with different items such as Buffalo meat, Chicken, Pork, Fish, Vegetable, Paneer, and many other as per costumer order. It served with spicy pickle and soup. The dumpling shape can depend on the area, but either looks like a leaf or a full circle. We advice to try momos when you are travelling in Nepal.

3. Sel Roti

Sel Roti is the popular food in Nepal which can find every sweet shop in the market. specially this dish made in festival time such as dashain and tihar festival at every house.It is ring shape in structure, and looks like a doughnut but it is made fro rice flour and sugar. It is deep fried in oil or ghee, the result is a granular texture and it will be crispy and soft. it is suitable eat with hot vegetable curry and milk. 4. Yomari

Yomari is the secret Newari food only made in newari festival which is called Yamari purnima. In this festival every Newari house made this special dish and they celebrate with family and relatives. This Newari festival marks the end of the rice hervest, as an offering of thanks to the god for a good harvest. This festival falls on November/December according to local calendar. This dish made from the rice flour and they fill inside Sugar, coconut, sisami, molasses and steamed in hot water. If you are travelling in Nepal don't miss to eat the Yomari. 5. Samayabaji

It is traditional food of Newari people, which is consumed as lunch and snakes for Newari people  but now a days all the people love Samaya baji for Lunch. The platter primaring consists of bitten rice, smoke meat, rosted potato, green mustard, rosted swyabeen, Bara (lentil pani cake), garlic and ginger piece, different pickle and more. it is easily find at Newari cafe in Kathmandu valley. If you are travelling to Nepal don't forget to try Samaya baji once. It is more delicious with local wine.

6. Dhindo and Gundruk

Dhindo and Gundruk is famous food in farming family in hilly region. Dhindo is the thick porridge, which can also be replaced with wheat, corn, millet, buckwheat and barley. Gundruk is dry Spanish, which is used to prepare a soup or pickle. Dhindo is very delicious food, which can eat with with meat curry and curd. It is really healthy food, so many people like this dish even in the city. This food easily find at Thakali Kitchen in Kathmandu valley. 7. Juju Dhau

Juju Dhau is the famous yougert in Bhaktpur which is known as "King Curd" and you will find this every shop in Bhaktpur. The standard yougert made from cow milk for the king Cord. Sometime they used Buffalo milk instead of cow milk. If you are willing to eat Juju Dhau you have to head the Bhaktpur, the ancient city of newar ethinic people, where this is the specialty. The local people make this cord by first boiling milk, sugar honey and then leaving the pasteurize in the clay pot. Bhaktpur is the famous for clay pot.
