Langtang Region

This is the third popular trekking region in Nepal, which are lies in the northeast of Kathmandu valley. Langtang region offers baffling extremes in topography with vibrant climatic conditions. The Gosaikunda Hindu holy lake situated in this region is the main attraction for visitors. In just a single day, one can traverse through five different vegetation zone trekking from the subtropics to the timberline. This region falls under the Nuwakot, Rasuwa, and Sindupalchok districts. There are several Monasteries such as Shyapru Monastery, Shinggompa, and Kyanging Gompa male the travelers bless. This area is covered by the area of 4986sq.km and Sherpa, Newar, Tamang, Gurung, Brahmin Chhetri are the main ethnic group live there. A Langtang region was destroyed by the massive earthquake on 25 April 2015 and many people were killed there. Many people lose their families and they become homeless but this area has already been renovated by the government of Nepal and the trekking agency association of Nepal (TAAN). Now all the Langtang regions are opened for visitors.
