This festival normally falls in the month of May and the date is fixed by the local head monk according to their rule. Shikhar Adventure arranges the Tiji festival every year. This year the festival going to celebrate on the 19th, 20th and 21st in the month of May. This festival is related to Tibet, so it will be a great chance to observe the Tibetan Buddhist festival in Lo-Mangthang. Tiji festival celebrates the memory of the victory over evil. During the festival, all the people gather together and people painting themselves in different characters. The demon and deity created using colorful dresses and ugly masks. The Dharma of the deity winning over the demon is shown and the demon are pursued away from the place. The local people and monks perform their cultured dances. In this festival, all the People pray and remember their chant for god. The legend of Dorje Jono and his demon father is painting through dharma. This festival is remarkable as it is a symbol of togetherness.

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive at Tribhuvan International airport (1345meters). Overnight at Hotel.

A representative from Shikhar Adventure will welcome you our hotel. We will prepare you with information and gear for your trek.

  • Transportation to and from Tribhuvan Airport.
  • Three nights in a 2-3 star hotel in Kathmandu, breakfast included.
  • All transportation for the trek.
  • Local guest house accommodation in mountain.
  • Trekkers’ Information Management System (TIMS) fees
  • Annapurna Conservation Area Permit
  • Upper Mustang Permit ($500 for first 10 days, $50/day after)
  • Government-authorized, experienced guide and porters
  • Insurance, food, accommodation, and wage for guides and porters
  • Hygienic meals (breakfast, lunch, and dinner) during the trek.
  • All equipment (sleeping bag, duffle bag, sleeping bag in needed etc.)
