Mustang Region

Mustang is one of the popular restricted region trekking destinations in Nepal, which is open for visitors since 1992. This is a high desert region similar to the Tibetan plateau. There is easy access to go Mustang region trekking by Bus/jeep and flights from Pokhara. The restricted region starts from Kagbeni and you should walk along the Kali Gandaki River. The area was famous for its natural beauty, landscape, culture, Monastery, cave, and orchard of apple and apricot. The Tibetan Buddhist people live in the area. The Tiji (Tenji)  festival makes popular this region in the world, which is falls in May according to the lunar calendar. This festival celebrates for three days and many people come there from the neighboring village and the other country. There are several historical caves and monastery can visit during your trekking in Mustang. Lo-Manthang is the capital of the region which is very close to the Tibet border.
