Pasupatinath is one of the biggest Hindu pilgrimage sites in the world. It is 5km east of the center city and a 15-minute walk from Tribhuwan airport. The temple of Lord Shiva, Pashupatinath, with a two-tiered golden roof and silver door is considered one of the holiest shrines for Hindu. Although only Hindu is allowed inside the temple, visitors can clearly see the temple and the activities performed in the temple. The temple was listed in the UNESCO World Heritage site in 1997 A.D.

The temple of Manakamana lies 100km west of Kathmandu and 20km away from the main highway. The cable car is a recent phenomenon in Nepal that has become extremely popular with the locals and tourists. The 12-minute cable car ride takes the visitor to the temple of goddess Manakamana who is believed to have the power to fulfill wishes.
