Our Explore Nepal Tour is an eventful 11-day package that brings you close to all of Nepal’s cherished cities. Each stop is remarkably different from the one before and is special in its own way. We’ll start off in Kathmandu, visiting three ancient Newari kingdoms, as well as several UNESCO World Heritage sites.
We’ll check out the Buddhist Swayambunath Temple, one of the oldest religious sites in Nepal (over 1500 years old!). The temple offers an incredible panoramic view of Kathmandu. Next, we go to Boudhanath Stupa, one of the largest Buddhist shrines in the world. Here we can see monks and devotees circumnavigating the stupa. Then, to Pasupatinath Temple, the most famous Hindu temple in the country. You can see sadhus (holy men) chatting and wandering around ascrematory processions take place. Kathmandu Durbar Square is an ancient palace of the former Kathmandu Kingdom. The next day, we head to Patan Durbar Square,located at center of Lalitpur. The main attraction is the ancient Newari palace where the Malla Kings lived. Then to Bhaktapur Durbar Square, the plaza in front of the royal palace of the old Bhaktapur Kingdom. Both places are architectural marvels.
The following day we head to Pokhara, taking a break on the way there for an adventurous whitewater rafting excursion. Take your time in the evening to walk along the refreshing lakeside path. The next day we’ll visit some famous destinations around Pokhara, which may include Bindawasini Temple, David's Falls, Gupteswar Cave, Seti Gorge, and others.
We take a scenic drive to Lumbini,where Gautama Buddha was born. Buddha, the founder of Buddhism, was born in Lumbini some 2500 years ago. It is one of the most iconic places in Nepal and given its historical and religious importance, it remains a beloved place in our country.
Our final destination is Chitwan National Park, one of the finest wildlife reserves in Asia. There are more than 43 species of mammals, over 450 species of birds, and more than 45 species of amphibians and reptiles in the reserve. In Chitwan, we'll take a ride on the back of an elephant to see the countless animal species found in the area. After the elephant ride, we’ll take a canoe ride through the murky river, keeping our eyes peeled for the elusive Bengal tiger. We'll also learn about the local ethnic groups in the area, particularly the Tharu. Afterwards, we head back to Kathmandu for a farewell dinner. After breakfast, we head to Patan, in the center of Lalitpur, to check out the ancient Newari kingdom. Then, we head to the next kingdom, 13km outside of Kathmandu, for more exploration and enjoyment. Overnight in hotel in Kathmandu.
We drive about a 6-7 hrs on the Prithvi Highway to the scenic lakeside city of Pokhara. The scenery along with drive, characterized by terraced rice fields and rolling hillsbuilds our anticipation for the trek. We stop in between to hop on a raft and float down the Trishuli River for about 3 hours before hopping back in the vehicle and continuing the drive. Pokhara is a relaxing town, surrounded by nature’s beauty. Overnight at hotel.
Waking up, we feel refreshed with the clean Pokhara air. We have lots of nice places to visit today, so we’ll have a nice breakfast and head out. We’ll visit the Peace Pagoda, Bindawasini Temple, David's Falls, Gupteswar Cave, Seti Gorge. Depending on your interests, we can skip some places/see other places instead. Overnight at hotel.
Starting early after breakfast, a scenic 5-hour drive takes us to Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha. We’ll take you around to several pilgrimage spots before night falls. Overnight in hotel.
Today is filled with more sightseeing. Several important historical Buddhist heritage sites are found in the area, so we’ve got a filled-up day. Most important of the sights is Mayadevi temple. After sightseeing, we head back to our hotel. Overnight in hotel.
A 6 hour drive in the morning brings us to Chitwan, a gorgeous place in the Terai region of Nepal. We spend the rest of our day sightseeing and enjoying this city, which is much different from our previous destinations. Overnight in hotel.
Today will be a day to remember for the rest of your life. We’ll ride on the back of an elephant, keeping our eyes out for the one-horned rhinocerous. We can take a canoe ride through the river as well. We do all these activities, while also learning about the native Tharu culture. Overnight in hotel.
We say our goodbyes to Chitwan and then head to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, we’ll drop you at your hotel and you can explore the rest of the day. Join us in the evening for your farewell dinner. Overnight in hotel.
