About Trip

Highlights

This world-renowned trek brings you within striking distance of Mt. Everest (8848m). The Everest Base Camp Trek takes place within Sagarmatha National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the world's highest national park, which is home to unique flora and fauna. Our Everest Base Camp Trek is a difficult journey high into the Himalayas that rewards those who complete it with breathtaking views.

After a short, scenic flight to Lukla, we embark on an exciting trek.  The next day, after passing through Sherpa villages and fields, we arrive in Namche Bazaar, the region's trekking and trading hub, where we can spend time with the friendly Sherpa ethnic group.  We pass several Tibetan Buddhist monasteries, the largest and most well-known of which is Tengboche Monastery. The incredible alpine landscape fills us with energy from here.

At Everest Base Camp (5364m), we can immediately appreciate the area's raw splendor. Mt. Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and other enormous Himalayan peaks taller than 8000 meters can be seen during the Everest Base Camp Trek. Incredible views of the dangerous Khumbu Icefall and nearby glaciers can be seen.  Next, we travel to Kala Patthar (5540m), from which we can see the Khumbu Glacial Valley and a panorama of high peaks.  We return to Namche Bazaar feeling revitalized and eventually take a flight from Lukla to Kathmandu.

Experience the transformational impact of yoga in the heart of the Himalayas throughout the walk. Each day begins with gentle stretching and yoga postures led by professional yoga instructors to prepare your body and mind for the day's journey. The tranquil mountain setting is ideal for meditation and contemplative activities, allowing you to find inner peace and harmony.

Best Season for the trek

Trekking can be done throughout the year, but the finest seasons are spring (March to May) and fall (September to November).  Rhododendrons blossom and there is a little more color in the Spring, while the skies are typically clearer in the Fall.  To prevent extreme mountain sickness, the Everest Base Camp Trek demands physical preparation and acclimatization. The trek is organized by Shikhar Adventure with full management. Please don't hesitate to get in touch with us for further information.
