Our Bardiya Wildlife Tour is a weeklong excursion into the wild, undisturbed area of Nepal’s Terai region. Bardiya National Park, which was declared a wildlife sanctuary in 1976, covers an area of 368 square kilometers. The Babai River runs along to the south of the park while the Shivalik Hills adorn its northern extremes. The endangered Royal Bengal tiger and the beloved one-horned rhinocerous make their abode within the grasslands and forests of the park. Also, Bardiya has many deer species, including the Chital, the Hog Deer, Barasingha, Sambar and the Swamp deer, among others. Other mammals include the Antelope, the Blue Bull, and Himalayan Tahr, Langur Monkey, Rhesus Macaque and the sloth bear. A population of wild boars also inhabit the park. Spending two full days in the park, you are guaranteed to see a plethora of animal species on the trail. Nearby in the Karnali, Girwa, and Babai Rivers, you can find the freshwater Dolphin and two species of crocodile. The park is a safehaven for many rare animals, like the wild elephant, Bengal tiger, and the rhinoceros. On our evening of bird watching, we might see the Bengal florican (extremely endangered), the silver-eared mesia and the Sarus (Crane). If you weren’t a bird lover before this tour, you sure will be afterward!
Our Bardiya Wildlife Tour enables you to observe over 250 species of birds and 30 species of mammals in their natural habitat. We’ll take you on an elephant-back safari through the deep forests and marshes to see these animals at close quarters.
