Nar Phu valley trekking is one of the popular restricted region trekking in the Annapurna region, which is start from Beshishar. The restricted check post start from Koto and end at Ngawal village after the Kangla pass. This is popular journey to the wild and unexplored vicinity located at north of Annapurna Himalaya range. This wild and rocky trek take us to the beautiful village Nar and Phu. When we cross the Kang-la pass (5100m) we descend to the Manang village via Ngawal village and some other village. From the pass we can see mesmerizing view of Annapurna, Lamjung Himal, Gangapurna, Tilicho and many more snow capped mountain. In the Manang we can see the medieval Tibetan culture and dramatic Mountain View and great alpine sceneries. We then head west over the Throng-La pass (5416m) and descent to the Jomsom crossing through the biggest pilgrimage site Muktinath and several villages. After breakfast, we’ll brief you on our upcoming adventure and then go on a sightseeing tour around Kathmandu, including several UNESCO World Heritage sites. You can spend the rest of the day freely or prepare for your upcoming trek. Overnight at hotel.
We begin our journey drive to Koto after breakfast. It is a long journey via beautiful Nepalese landscape. During the beginning of our trip, our trail is alongside the winding Trishuli River. Today we cross the several popular place such as Beshishar, Bulbule, Sangya, Jagat, Dharapani, Timang and finally we reach to Chamje.Overnight at guesthouse.
In the morning, we register our restricted area permit at the Police Check Post. Then we trek through the River bank of Soti Khola again through wonderful pine forests, streams and suspension and reach Dharmasala. We have our packed lunch on the way. We then continue the trek through forests and ascend steeply towards Meta village. Finally we arrive on the Tibetan Plateau where we have a very good view of Annapurna II and Lamjung Himal. We start our day traversing up and down and crossing suspension bridges over different streams. After almost 4 hours of trek we reach Kyang where we can see the remnants, particularly the ruined forts of the Khampa settlement (the place which Khampa refugees from Tibet once captured and lived). We further keep walking past the Phu Khola on a rocky trail and finally reach the Phu village in another 3 to 4 hours. Overnight at guest house.
Today is the scheduled acclimatization day whereby we are suggested to rest and get acclimatized with the altitude. As we are in the Lost/Hidden Valley, we can explore the culture, natural diversity, and religious practices of the ethnic groups like Lama, Gurung and Ghale in here. Besides this, we can trace out how people make their survival depending on agriculture, animal breeding and seasonal migrations in such remote location or in the hidden valley. The trail descends passing many streams and suspension bridges until Mahendra Pul which takes about 4 hours. We pass the high suspension bridge 80m over the Gorge of Lapche River. We have lunch in Mahendra Pul. After lunch, the trail steeply ascends passing many Buddhist stupas until Nar Village which takes about 2 hours. We find several Buddhist Monasteries here to visit coupled with the glorious vistas of Pisang Peak and other small peaks. Overnight at Guest house.
Today is adventurous day with long day hike so we get up early in the morning and head to Kangla pass. From pass we can see the Annapurna massif. We further trek down to Ngwal from there. Overnight at Guest house.
From Ngwal, we head for Manang today. We pass through the isolated village of Paugh overlooking the amazing views of Annapurna range. We then move gently uphill to Mungli and then to the main trail of Annapurna Trail at Mungli. We eventually reach Manang, where we set up our camps for overnight stay. Overnight at Guest house.
After breakfast, we head to Yak Kharka. We can take it slow today, as the hike is pretty short. We quickly reach Jharsang stream and walk along its bank into the alpine meadows. Yak Kharka is a wide-open grazing meadow. We take a rest here. Overnight at guesthouse.
From Yak Kharka, the trail becomes a bit more difficult due to the thin air. We first cross Ledar and go down towards the river. We gradually ascendthe Thorong Phedi. We will have lunch at Phedi and continue trek to High camp for overnight stay. Overnight at guesthouse.
Today is the moststrenuous day of our trek, but it pays off! We wake up extra early because the earlier we climb the Thorong– La Pass, the better chances for clear skies and good weather. We reach the pass and see the amazing scenery of Annapurna, Manaslu, Hiunchuli, Lamjung and other neighboring peaks. After taking some snaps and enjoyingthe views, we trek down all the way to Muktinath. Overnight at guesthouse.
Muktinath is an popular pilgrimage site for Buddhists and Hindus alike. In the morning, we visit to the temple area and a Buddhist monastery located close to the temple. After the short tour, we continue our trek down to Jomsom, which is district headquater of Mustang District. In the evening we can celebrate the dinner in mountain for successful trip. Today we fly to Pokhara, the lake city in the earliest possible airplane. After checking-in at our hotel we will sightseeing around Pokhara valley. There are several place such as Devi’s fall, Gupteshower Mahadev Cave, Seti River Gorge, International mountain museum and Fewa lake are the main attraction of Pokhara valley. In the evening you free time for souvenir shopping for your friends and family. Overnight at Hotel.
After breakfast, we drive towards Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu we have the rest of the day and in the evening we will provide fare well dinner in typical Nepali restaurant with culture program. Overnight at hotel.
