There are no tea houses on the way as you will be traveling through some most remote parts of Nepal but you will be accommodated in Tibet.

You need special permit if you start through the Simikot. As you walk through this route, you will get some insights on how remote a place can be. You will feel like you have no connection to the outer world. Detailed Itinerary:

Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu

A representative from Shikhar Adventure will welcome you our hotel. We will prepare you with information and gear for your trek.

Day 02: Tour preparation and Kathmandu Sightseeing Tour

After you take breakfast, we’ll brief you on our upcoming adventure and then take you on a sightseeing tour around Kathmandu, including several UNESCO World Heritage sites. You can spend the rest of the day preparing for your upcoming trek.

Day 03: Fly to Nepalgunj

We take a regular flight to Nepalgunj the far south west region of Nepal. Nepalgunj is a big flat city being a border town to India. The temperature there is also high and very hot in summer season and cold in winter season.There are some regular flight every day by the different airlines. Overnight at a hotel in Nepalgunj. (Breakfast included)

Day 04: Fly to Simikot and trek to Dharapuri

Today, we take another small aircrafts to Simikot the gateway of Nepal Tibet border. We fly to the north for about an hour to one of the remote locations in Nepal – Simikot. It is the headquarter of Humla district. In Simikot, we meet our team who will assist us for our journey ahead. We start our trekking journey by climbing up from the airstrip and walking on a rocky trail. We pass the terraced fields of barley and wheat and ascend to a forested ridge above the town of Simikot. We make a long steep descend and pass Dandaphoya. We continue our trail through walnut and apricot trees until we reach the village of Dharapokhari. Overnight at tented camp. Day 05: Trek to Kermi

After the breakfast we walk on flat trails along the Karnali River. On our way we pass the fields of barley, buckwheat, rice and potatoes. We can enjoy with hot water bath at natural hot springs near Kermi. The hot water bath can be an disease to reduce our aching bodies. Today we tow popular Gompa during the trekking which is Laikyo Gompa and Lhundrup Choeling Gompa. Overnight at tented camp. (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included)

Day 06: Kermi to Yalbang

After some flat in the begin and steep ascend over a rocky ridge before descending down to the grayish blue water of the Humla Karnali. We cross another ridge to a sandy meadow where the camps are set by the goat herders by the side of the river. Passing the meadow, we reach a valley that down as we cross more ridges to reach the village of Yalbang. Today also we visit the Namkha Khyung Dzong Monastery and walk ahead enjoy the views of pine trees and Karnali River. Overnight at tented camp. (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included)

Day 07: Yalbang to Tumkot

Today, we walk through the Karnali River. When we ascend up, the lush in the environment starts to disappear and few small comes to sight. After than we walk along the pine tree forest to Tumkot village. Today also we visit the popular Dhungkar Choezom Monastery which is one of the most important Sakya monasteries in the Tibetan region. Day 08: Tumkot to Yari

Today our walk will be easy than other day and change the climate and vegetation is drastically apparent. As we walk further, the landscape grows more wild, secluded and rocky. You can only see small bushes and junipers in the name of vegetation. After the five hour walk we reach Yari village. Overnight at tented camp. (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included)

Day 09: Yari to Hilsa

This is the quite hard day because we need to cross the Nara-La pass (4620m) today. The vegetation and landscape at this place is similar to that of Tibet. When we will be in the pass we can see the outstanding views of Tibetan plateau and Yari Village. From the pass, we descend down to Hilsa border town of Tibet. In Hilsa pilgrims on the way of Mt. Kailash are dropped by helicopter and cross the border. Overnight at tented camp. (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included)

Day 10: Hilsa to Mansarovar

Today, we cross the Nepal/ Tibet Border. Our Tibetan guide and driver will be waiting there. After some formalities in immigration we continue drive to Lake Manasarovar via Taklakot.It takes about 3 hour drive with black top road. Overnight at guesthouse (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included)

Day 11: Mansarovar – Darchen

Wake up early in the morning and dip in the holy lake of Mansarovar if you are holy person. It is said that all our sins will be forgiven by God and we will be blessed with bliss if we take a bath in that lake. After completing our bath and parikrama of the lake, we drive to Darchen after lunch. Darchen is a base camp for Mt.Kailash. During the auspicious religiously important dates, the base camp is filled with tents with Tibetans pilgrims. Overnight at a guesthouse. (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included)

Day 12: Drive to Tarboche and trek to Dirapuk

Today, we actually start our Kailash yatra by the foot. After 30 drive we reach to tarboche and our walk begin from Tarboche. The path starting from Tarchen is also known as Asthapath which means “Way of Faith”. We walk along the Sidu river almost with flat trail. During the trek chance to see the blue Ship near the water falls.There is a small tea shop on the way and we can have some lunch and continue one and half hour trek to Derapuk. Derapuk is lies in Lap of Mt. Kailash.Overnight at a guesthouse in Dirapuk. (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included)

Day 13: Dirapuk – Zuthulpuk

Today is one of the hard day of this trip where we have to cross the Dolma-La pass (5630m) above the sea label. We continue ascent our trail to Dolma La Pass. At Dolma La pass about three hour. If weather is clear we can see the unbelieveable view from the top. After the pass we can see the Gauri kunda a small holy lake. After visiting Gauri Kund, we descent to the bottom and have some lunch and we continue trek to Zuthulpuk about another four hour along the river. Overnight at a guesthouse in Zuthulpuk. (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included)

Day 14: Trek to Darchen and drive back to Dongba

Today is the last day of our Kailash parikrama about three hour in the morning. When we arrive in Darchen we meet our driver and the team if they are not able to go Kailash Parikarma. After than we proceed to drive the Dongba via near Manasarovar. We drive about seven hour taday to Dongba.Overnight at a guesthouse.

Day 15: Drive to kiyong

We join the road that takes us to the Nepal- china border and drive towards Saga town and cross the Barmaputra river. Today we cross some high pass and we can see some mountain like Sisapangma,Cho Oyu and many more snow capped mountain peak. Overnight at a guesthouse in Kirong. (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included)

Day 16: Drive to Kathmandu

Today, we cross the Tibet border from The Rasuwagadi and inter the Nepal after some formalities in immigration. After an hour drive from border we cross the Bhote Koshi river in Shyaprubesi and continue drive to Kathmandu about seven hour. In the evening we will provide fare well dinner in typical Nepali restaurant with culture program. Overnight at a hotel. (Breakfast, Lunch and dinner included)

Day 17: Transfer to the international airport.
